Okay, now that we have our supplies together, I will help you get started on a quilt project that will look more complicated than it really is. Don’t worry, we will start off simple, I promise. You will be able to decide how big you want to make your first quilt. The pattern we will make lends itself easily to any size from crib to king. In the next couple days I’ll start posting pictures and instructions for you to follow along with me.
You will need:
1 jelly roll/or 1 charm pack/or a couple candy packs.(Jelly rolls are a pack, or roll, of 2 1/2″ x 42ish strips of fabric. Charm packs are a stack of 40ish pieces of 5″ square fabric. Candy packs are 40ish stacks of 2 1/2″ square fabric. I will be using the candy packs as we will be using 2 1/2″ squares as our block base.)
2 yards of a neutral background fabric that will complement your other colors without loosing any of them.
Spool of thread.
These are Candy packs.(Charm packs look the same, just bigger. You could also use a Layer Cake, which are 10″ squares.)
These are Jelly Rolls.
Pick your favorite colors, and look for my next post. Keep in mind, the more fabric you have, the bigger your quilt could be! (Or start your stash with any leftovers 😉)
