I did something that I’ve never done before today, and hopefully won’t be doing again. I cut the side of my finger while cutting fabric with a rotary cutter. OUCH! Now, I’ve been close a few times and nipped my finger nail, but never my actual finger. It’s not really as bad as it sounds. Don’t get me wrong, it took a nice chunk out of my finger, but Neosporin and a band-aid is really all I needed. (After a few choice words of course.)
Moral of the story? Pay attention when you’re using any cutting device! Even if you’ve done the same thing a million times, it only takes one time to seriously hurt yourself.
Okay, so what was I making that caused me to shed blood? Funny you should ask, because at least this quilt top is finished and I have something to show for all my pain and suffering 😉.
Okay so that’s a bit hard to see. Here is a closer look…
Well these pictures came out darker than expected. But yes, that is a Christmas quilt. Silver and Gold. This will look great with my Christmas ornaments as they are Silver, Gold, and Chocolate.
Have you done any projects for Christmas yet?
gorgeous fabrics with so much sparkle!

I usually stay away from fabrics like this because of the sparkle. I am always afraid the sparkle will wash out or fade or something. But I figured since it is a Christmas quilt it won’t be used quite as much as an “everyday” quilt. Plus it was so pretty, who can resist that?!

Beautiful quilt and fabrics. Sorry about your ‘work related accident’ but glad you didn’t get blood on your quilt. 🙂

My big one was “a little something”. At the moment, I’m trying to make things only using what I have in my stash. 😉
