Happy New Year! It’s that time again for an update of where I’m at on my stitching project. Well, last time I had finished the horses for my mom. This time I’ve got a few things to show you. First I picked up a three pack of black squares. So here is what I’ve done with them so far…
I’m going for a Halloween theme. I haven’t decided what I want to do with the third one. So while I’m thinking about that, I dug up another ufo. This time I had originally started it for my dad. I have only worked on it for a couple days so not too far along yet.
This is where I was when I picked it up…
This is where I’m at as of today…
This is what it will eventually look like…
Well, I’m happy to announce that I will ve starting a new position on Feb 1st. What this means for my time to stitch? I’m not sure yet. My new position requires a ton of traveling, so we will see what happens. I’m sure I will still be stitching, just maybe not quite as much.
On a side note, I’m also very proud of myself for meeting my goal of reading 150 books this year. (Yes 150, that’s not a typo.) I’m setting my goal at 75 for 2018 so we will see if I meet or pass that one.
As always, please stop by the other members of my SAL group and see what they are working on! Everyone is doing something different and it’s fun to see all the variety of projects. Keep in mind that they are located all over the world and may be in different time zones. Happy Stitching!

I love the two little pieces on black! And the one for your dad is pretty ambitious, good luck with that. I’ve never kept track of the number of books I’ve read during a year. Could be an interesting experiment. Hope the new year holds lots of good things for you!

I use Goodreads.com to set my goal and keep track. Plus it helps me find new books to read as well. It’s a great site if you’ve never tried it.

I love your Halloween themed pieces! They look stunning on the black. And that piece for your Dad will be amazing when finished!

I’m hoping the lions will look great. For some reason I keep using the wrong color and have to go back and redo sections. So frustrating!

The black pieces will be a nice little group for October next year, and I love the lions! If you don’t have to drive, traveling may give you lots of opportunities to stitch and read! I remember being holed up in my hotel room after a full day of meetings, and all I wanted was a walk and then to stitch in my pj’s…more than enough people during the day, as wasn’t one to have dinner, etc.

I’m not sure yet how much driving I’ll be doing myself. My team members are all in different cities. No flying. All of our stores are in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa for now. On shorter assignments I’ll have a roommate, so that is where it may get tricky to find time to stitch. On longer assignments I’ll have my own room, and will take my little sewing machine with me as well.

Very much so! It’s a brand new position, so it will be a learning experience for the other 3 members of my team as well.

Well done on the work you have completed this time on your latest UFO. Although now its become a WIP rather than a UFO. I love your little owl on the black fabric.

I bought the black because it was marked down, what to put on it? No idea. So why not Halloween theme? I think maybe a skull or something for the last one. Something to show up well on the black background.

It’s always nice to pick up small projects to do in between making decisions on the bigger ones. The owl looks fantastic on the black fabric. Looks like your lions are quite a challenge. Great so far!
