I have a weakness for all things magical. So when I saw this series and read some reviews, I figured, what the heck, let’s give it a try.
I can’t say that my first impression was a good one. It took me a bit to get into this story. I can only contribute this to the way the story starts. It begins as if you already know something about what is going on. I spent thr first chapter or so a bit lost and confused as to what I had missed.
Once I got past this, I began to fall into the story. The worlds that Schwab creates are very distinct and create their own characters within the story.
The two main characters compliment each other well and you find yourself rooting for them to win.
By the time I finished this book, I was looking forward to seeing where the characters went from there.
