Okay, so a little bit about me. I have a MA in English with a concentration in Fiction Writing. So, that being said, I do read a few classics now and then. This will not be the only one to pop up in my reviews, I promise you that.
So the novel. Well written prose. Classic gothic. If you are a fan of Jane Eyre or Wurthering Heights, you would probably enjoy this novel. It is written as an account of what happened in order to prove that someonr is really not dead. I don’t want to say too much, as I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone who might want to read it for themselves.
This is not a quick read. At all. It takes time to read, as all great classics do. Is it worth it? I thought so. I can say that I really enjoyed the novel and the characters were so richly written. Something about a good classic, the characters were built so well…
Do I recommend this one? Absolutely. No question about it. Is it for everyone? Eh, maybe not. Like I said though, if you like classic gothic novels, add this one to the to-read pile.
