A book you thought you wouldn’t like, but ended up loving…
Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
This is probably the hardest one so far to answer. I don’t typically read books that I don’t think I will like. Just the act of reading is enjoyable!
I guess you could say that I didn’t want to like Lolita. The story is obviously repulsive and very much taboo, but the writing is superb.
The writing style makes the reader truly feel what the narrator is experiencing and expressing. I can see why it makes so many lists of must read books.
