SAL #38

Why does three weeks go by so fast?? I do not have much to show. A lot of the time my project was sitting at my dad’s house and I was not. So anyway, this is where I was… And this is where I am now… Super hard to see the very subtle shading, but there is a lighter green/grey rose pattern forming in there. I think I’ve decided to put some of my favorite authors’ names on the books, but stitch them in after with a backstitch. I’m sure everyone else has more to show than me, I’ve been … Continue reading SAL #38

SAL #36

Three weeks ago I was able to show off my butterflies finished. They are still hanging out, waiting for me to do something with them. So, on to the next project. Right? Alright, so this is where I am… Not sure it looks like much of anything yet. So this is what it will be…. maybe… I say maybe, because I’m not sure if I want to put the words in. I may just do flowers and books, as that’s what drew me to this pattern in the first place… what do you guys think? As always, make sure to … Continue reading SAL #36

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 20

(I know, I’m horrible at posting these daily!) Favorite Romance book Hmm, I’m a fan of Nora Roberts, and Danielle Steele, however I guess I’d have to say that my favorite romance book would have to be… Stardust by Neil Gaiman I know, it’s not really in the Romance genre… but there is romance in it! The story has everything you could want. Romance, comedy, adventure, tragedy, I mean really what else could you ask for? Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 20

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 18

A book that disappointed you… Lock & Mori, Mind Games by Heather W. Petty After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to read the next. However, it just did not have the same magic as the first one did. The book was okay, don’t get me wrong, it just wasn’t as good as the first. Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 18

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 16

Favorite female character… This may be harder than favorite male character… Well, I think I’ll go with… Thursday Next (from Jasper Fforde’s Thursday Next series.) She is such a dynamic character. She changes throughout the series, sometimes in little ways, and sometimes in huge ways that in other books would be unbelievable. Not this series though, somehow it all makes sense… Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 16

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 15

Favorite male character… Hmm so hard… I would have to say, Sherlock Holmes I’ve read most of the original stories, and many spin offs. His character is something I find interesting and intriguing. I’m sure once I post this, I’ll think of a million other characters that would fit the bill, but oh well, that’s a reader for you! Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 15

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 14

Book turned movie, and completely desecrated…. Oh, this is fun… So many to choose from…. The one that popped into my head as soon as I read the Challenge was… Cassandra Clare’s City of Bones (Mortal Instruments). I’d read the series, and liked it, so I thought, why not watch the movie? Augh, they cut out so much, and changed other stuff, that it was barely recognizable as the story from the book. I did however like the TV series that was on Freeform until being canceled, it was closer to the book. Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 14

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 13

Your favorite writer… I really have to pick just one?! I’m not sure I can do that. Hmm, if I had to pick just one, I’d have to say Neil Gaiman. He has this ability to tell a story that people already know, in a way that makes it completely new. If you’ve never read any of his books, what are you waiting for, really? I would also recommend that you listen to at least one of his audiobooks, one that he narrates himself. It truly is a magical experience. Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 13
