Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 18

A book that disappointed you… Lock & Mori, Mind Games by Heather W. Petty After reading the first book in this series, I was excited to read the next. However, it just did not have the same magic as the first one did. The book was okay, don’t get me wrong, it just wasn’t as good as the first. Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 18

Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 1

Okay, so I came across this challenge on a Pinterest post. I thought it might be fun and as even if I don’t have time to do much else, I still read a lot. So let’s see if I can keep it up! Day One: Best book you read last year? (I’m going to go with this year since it’s almost over anyway) The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn I’ve read quite a lot of books this year (not as much as last year, but still a great showing) and this one still stands out to me. I … Continue reading Thirty Day Book Challenge: Day 1

Book Review #31

The worst thing imaginable has happened. Mass shooting at a local community zoo. What would you do? How would you react? This is a very moving novel, and disturbingly relatable.  The only thing I didn’t like about the book is how it ended. I wanted to know more. I wanted to finish the story. I won’t say too much, as I don’t want to give anything away.  Give it a read, if I had the time, I would have read it all in one sitting. Continue reading Book Review #31

Book Review #24

So I stayed up til about 2 am this morning finishing this book. I really wanted to find out what happened.  This book is written as a kind of modern day Rear Window. I think the author pulls it off rather well. It actually has a mixture of old movies rolled into it (literally and figuratively). As a fan of these movies, I really enjoyed the references.  There were a few predictable aspects, and the movies referenced foreshadowed much of the action, but it was done so well… I give this one two excited thumbs up! Book Review #15

This is another book that I received from Book of the Month. It is a sci-fi/psychological thriller. The idea behind this book is a bit creepy. I don’t want to give too much away about this book, in case someone wants to read it. However, read on at you’re own risk.  In this book, people go to a kind of psychic network that allows them to communicate with dead people, by letting the dead person possess their body. Then the person visiting can have a conversation or whatever with the dead person.  If that isn’t creepy enough, the main story … Continue reading Book Review #15

Book Review #7

Today’s book… This book I received from Book of the Month. It is definitely a psychological thriller.  The main character is a novelist who wrote a best selling thriller. We meet her as she is trying to write another, but the story is not going as well as she had hoped. Throw in the mysterious disappearance of her husband’s best friend,  and we are off on a ride of ups and downs as she tries to figure out whar happened.  This was an interesting read. There is a nice twist at the end.  Once I got into the book, I  … Continue reading Book Review #7
